The toy I will be modelling is a small truck with a crane.
The story goes that this truck is in charge of putting together the parts of the race track the mouse in racing on and fixing up any broken parts of the track. However it made a mistake this time around when trying to implement more loops and curves into the race track. In one of the high speed curves there is a crack in the track. Can the truck fix it on time before the mouse races through it? Rushing through the track before the mouse reaches it and fix it with his crane!

Does multi-tasking give you a real or false sense of having accomplished something?
I think it gives a false sense of achievement. Based on the other document, multi-tasking only makes you feel that way because you did a whole lot of different things in a short while. But most of those different things are pointless like texting and listening to mp3, making you feel very achieved but what you have done was very little.
However, there is also the other side of multi-tasking. For example, when me and my group are doing projects, we usually do many things together in a short amount of time, switching back and fro from subjects to subjects and researching materials before compiling them together. All of it doing together, I believe is also a type of multi-tasking and it actually gives a real sense of having accomplished something.
Is learning 3D and design different from learning programming, or is all learning the same? Why?
I think that the learning of the concepts and all are the same but the techniques are different. In 3D everything we need is inside maya, all we have to do is find the correct functions and tools to create our object and design. It is also more based on creativity and how you can see things. While programming is a very technical subject. You must be familiar with the coding and the format of it to actually code out a workable actionscript or website.
The article states that “Learning is actually a very complex operation for an individual”. Do you agree with this? Do you feel that you approach your learning in the best way – if yes, how, and if no, how can you change your work style?
In fact a agree with this sentence. Each learning style differs from each individual and finding the most suitable way for each to learn is quite difficult in my opinion for a tutor or lecturer to help them better. Some of us need a lot of guidance from the tutor to aid in their work while some of us can do most of the stuffs just by following the lab sheets and experimenting with the program themselves.
I feel that I’m approaching my learning in a good but not best way. For me paying attention in class is more than 70% of what i need to do to understand the subject but due to my laziness I sometimes cannot concentrate, so if I could change my work style i would try to pay more attention for starters and see how it goes.
What are your thoughts about the last paragraph in the extract?
Like the previous question, I think that each individual have different learning styles.
Should your lecturers also focus on your work attitude, or just leave you to sink or swim on your own? Why?
I think that lecturers should do both, but not so much on both. Lecturers can help us on our work attitude by giving us advices and stuff but if it goes overboard, some of us might feel annoyed and begin to dislike the subject. And helping us when we are in need and not all the time would be very much appreciated. However if we were left to sink or swim, those lacking behind will get even more confused with the subject so a moderate of both would be good!
Race Track

This exercise taught me how to use the deformer tool to curve the tracks and extruding tabs to make the parts more realistic.
Had a little problem with the curvature when it doesn’t turn out the way it was supposed to be but after playing with it more for awhile, i managed to get these 2 basic track parts.

With this done i experimented more with the track curves and managed to make a sort of a loop at the end of my track. This is the picture of it.
Bucket

This is the first time i’m using the tool to give the original plane a texture and using that texture to create a CV curve and revolving it to form a bucket. Everything was smooth until a part where i had to create the handle. Comparing my bucket to the one in the pdf file, mine was small and i had to scale down and change the design of the handle a little bit. Finally did it and this exercise helped me learn how to use the boolean difference, revolve ,how to adjust the rotation and pivot point.
Cardboard Box

I had a some problems doing this cardboard box, the extrusion of the flaps were a bit of a problem when it couldn’t be extruded and some of the selection of the vertexes and edges are hard. Overall i did it but i have no idea why there is a small orange thing at the small top faces of the flaps.

Extrusion of curves

The basic extrusion like the one on the left and center is easy but i had a little problem trying to extrude 4 faces of the cube along with the curve. The extrusion only comes out a little bit and does not fully follow the whole of the curve
