Does multi-tasking give you a real or false sense of having accomplished something?
I think it gives a false sense of achievement. Based on the other document, multi-tasking only makes you feel that way because you did a whole lot of different things in a short while. But most of those different things are pointless like texting and listening to mp3, making you feel very achieved but what you have done was very little.
However, there is also the other side of multi-tasking. For example, when me and my group are doing projects, we usually do many things together in a short amount of time, switching back and fro from subjects to subjects and researching materials before compiling them together. All of it doing together, I believe is also a type of multi-tasking and it actually gives a real sense of having accomplished something.
Is learning 3D and design different from learning programming, or is all learning the same? Why?
I think that the learning of the concepts and all are the same but the techniques are different. In 3D everything we need is inside maya, all we have to do is find the correct functions and tools to create our object and design. It is also more based on creativity and how you can see things. While programming is a very technical subject. You must be familiar with the coding and the format of it to actually code out a workable actionscript or website.
The article states that “Learning is actually a very complex operation for an individual”. Do you agree with this? Do you feel that you approach your learning in the best way – if yes, how, and if no, how can you change your work style?
In fact a agree with this sentence. Each learning style differs from each individual and finding the most suitable way for each to learn is quite difficult in my opinion for a tutor or lecturer to help them better. Some of us need a lot of guidance from the tutor to aid in their work while some of us can do most of the stuffs just by following the lab sheets and experimenting with the program themselves.
I feel that I’m approaching my learning in a good but not best way. For me paying attention in class is more than 70% of what i need to do to understand the subject but due to my laziness I sometimes cannot concentrate, so if I could change my work style i would try to pay more attention for starters and see how it goes.
What are your thoughts about the last paragraph in the extract?
Like the previous question, I think that each individual have different learning styles.
Should your lecturers also focus on your work attitude, or just leave you to sink or swim on your own? Why?
I think that lecturers should do both, but not so much on both. Lecturers can help us on our work attitude by giving us advices and stuff but if it goes overboard, some of us might feel annoyed and begin to dislike the subject. And helping us when we are in need and not all the time would be very much appreciated. However if we were left to sink or swim, those lacking behind will get even more confused with the subject so a moderate of both would be good!
